Desert Floods

The rain just won’t stop. Hello from Palm Springs, CA, a desert city that’s very wet. It hasn’t stopped raining for days. This is Demuth Park in Palm Springs, CA. A lake has formed at the park’s southern end. Quite remarkable seeing as this is supposed to be a desert. Nearly 4 inches of rain has fallen here since this series of storms began at the beginning of this week.

This iPhone image was taken at 2:30 p.m. today. You just got to love the reflection of the trees on the newly formed lake.

All the washes have become rushing rivers that you could whitewater raft on. The washes fill with not only water from here, but also water running off from the surrounding mountains.

When it rains here, it pours.
