Tapachula, Mexico

What do you expect to find in Tapachula, Mexico, near the Mexico-Guatemala border? A coke sign with patina (wear and tear).

Actually the city has a vibrant, colorful downtown that shouldn’t be missed if you’re in the area. Many cruise shops stop nearby at the port of Puerto Chiapas. However not many passengers make it here. I stuck out as an obvious gringo in this town. I did have fun talking Spanish to the people, who were very nice.

All in all, this town is worth no more than an afternoon visit.

When I did go, I had my telephoto lens so that this faraway billboard was caught at a focal length of 200 mm.
