Double Dutch in Venice

Double-dutch jump roping is not a sport that people often think about it. When you do you visions of  jumping school girls in uniforms might come to mind.

If you’re in Venice (that groovy place in LA where life is anything but dull), you might find some double-dutchers. I did.

In order to photograph them, I set my camera to the widest aperture in aperture priority mode so as to keep shutter speeds as fast as possible. This image was taken with a f/4 Canon L Series lens and it did pretty well in the task of stopping the action.

There’s a great site to find out the latest on the double-dutch craze.

Gee, why isn’t this sport in the Olympics?
