Mini Photo Essay about a Fish Head and Death

This fish on ice in a market in Barcelona is scary. My favorite part of the image has to be the teeth, so tiny, yet fierce.

I don’t know why every other country other than the United States includes the head when selling a fish. I think Americans are afraid of fish heads. It probably has something to do with death. Americans don’t like death.

Most other cultures are able to handle the emotional impact a dead fish head makes on the mind. I really think Americans can’t handle it. The thought of having to cut off the head or cook the head in order to eat the sea creature is too much for them to handle. Death is part of the cycle of life. Americans have a hard time understanding that.
