Arkansas Church

Frank Lloyd Wright didn’t design this church. His student, E. Fay Jones did. The church, Thorncrown Chapel, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas rises within a forest of tall trees.

The church opened in 1980. It’s open mostly to visitors with no active congregation. There are Sunday services, which focus on the Bible.

The church is modeled after the gothic chapel,  Sainte Chappelle in Paris. The building of the church has been extensively documented.

In the Thorncrown Journal you can read about the Gates of Hell.  The article asks the question, “Why would a church want to storm the gates of Hell?”

Hmmm, what do you think of that?
