This Victorian isn’t the only one in this seaside city.
Victorians are some of my favorite subjects to photograph. Usually I catch them during the day when the sun is shinning directly on the facade of the house. This brings out the colors, making them blast through the frame.
In this shot, this isn’t the case. I photographed it by setting my camera on the gate to provide a brace so I wouldn’t get softness from camera-shake.
The dusk brings a whole different type of photo op, one that focuses on artificial light inside and out. This type of light doesn’t blast out of the frame like a facade with the sun shining upon it. Instead this subtle light glows, making for a compelling photo.by
