New Images Photography

Overtweaked

Is this HDR? Not…it’s a photo overtweaked in Photoshop Raw. It’s easy to do; just play with the sliders.

HDR is a funny animal that many overdo. It’s a process of putting three images of different exposures together to take the details in the shadowy, dark areas of the overexposed photo, the midtones in the properly exposed photos, and the details of the highlights in the underexposed photos. Your photo ends up kind of like this.

If you look close by clicking on it to get a new, bigger image everything in the photo is sharp. That’s what’s cool about HDR. If you try to do that by overtweaking, you’ll get a bunch of cruddy noise in both the underexposed and overexposed areas.
