Debt Crisis

head in sand

Are we all clueless about the European debt crisis?

No text needed here. This image certainly paints 1000 words. Look at it, and all kinds of contemporary issues come to mind–austerity, Greece, recession, clueless, Eurozone, European debt crisis and the trite expression “head in sand,” not to mention an animal favorite, the ostrich.

Many photographers forget symbolism when their out and about photographing on the street. It’s a powerful literature tool that can do wonders for a photograph.

This 2001 photo was taken in Paris, an art installation with enormous power. The sunny warm day the image was shot, there was not only one area of these “head in sand” monuments, but several–they were all over the place–a photographers delight.
